kya had her first school valentines party on thurs. she was so excited to put her valentines bags together! she has been working hard on writing her name and even is starting on her last name! kya was a piece of cake...guikema....well it might take a little while to get perfect :)

wow! i cannot believe it has been a year! my baby is 1!! i am so excited to see kinley continue to grow and learn new things! we had a wonderful day today. we spend the day as a family and had tons of fun! tonight we had her birthday party. kinley is such a party animal she LOVED it! she loved seeing her family and friends, she loved opening her presents, and she REALLY loved her cake!! so cute! here are some pictures from her special day.

one of my favorite family traditions is going to the stock show and rodeo. this was the first year we took the girls to the rodeo. kya was so excited and each day she would ask "is today when we get to go see the horses and cows run?". we decided to take kinley as well and hope for the best...well it was a HIT! kya loved it, but kinley REALLY loved it. it was so cute, kinley sat perfect for the entire rodeo and watched and clapped! here are some pictures from our fun day with the family!

gotta love living in colorado!!

yesterday was one of those beautiful colorado days that makes you so thankful for living here! it was bright blue skies, 60 degress....perfect :) and it is JANUARY!! we wanted to take advantage of this weather, so we headed to the denver zoo. the girls were so excited. kinley is now old enough to actually see the animals. she loved watching the monkeys! we had a wonderful day as a family! man i am so blessed!

big night!!

tonight was a big night for kinley. we got together with sean and lexi at my parents house. while we were having dinner tate leaned over and gave kinley a big kiss ...we were all laughing so hard that tate really went for it and slipped her the tongue!! i was in shock that our little baby had just had her first kiss that ended in a french kiss!! we had a great night of catching up, laughing, and just enjoying being together. then to top off the night we discovered kinley had popped her 6th tooth! what a night...her first kiss and her 6th tooth came through!! wow...what a night :)

what to do....

so i am trying to figure out what to do... for the last month kinley has been going through this phase of stranger anxiety. it seems to be getting worse rather then better. she is such a happy baby...when she is not scared. then if you drop her off at nursery..put to sleep in an unfamiliar place...she FREAKS out!! now if you have not had the joy of hearing kinley freak out..you are missing something :) the girl can SCREAM!! 98% of her life she is a happy go lucky little girl..but that other 2%...wow she is a little diva. i have found the word diva to fit her perfectly. when she decides she does not like something...there is no way to change her mind! and i mean NO WAY :) so we are in a hard phase. church is hard, bible study is hard, having babysitters, sleeping away from home...sounds fun huh :) it makes me sad to think i might not be able to join my friends in bible study for the next couple months as we work through this issue :( so any of you reading this..i am up for suggestions :)

it is crazy each day kinley wakes up her hair has more curl ! today after her bath i didn't put the usual HUGE headband in and we went for her first ponytail! kya thought it was so funny to see her with a sprout of hair shooting out of the top of her head! since her headband wasn't pushing down on her curls they sprung up everywhere! it is so cute! here are some pictures of kinley sporting her new do :)
