enjoying this warm weather!

we have really been enjoying this amazing weather we have been having! we have been having a ton of picnic lunches in the yard and playing outside as much as we can. this past weekend we worked in the yard for a while getting things cleaned up. the girls both LOVE to be outside doing anything. i am really looking forward to summer and spending our evenings out on the patio as a family, gardening, going on walks...i love it all!

today was a big day for kinley! all the sudden she is starting to move!! we are doing physical therapy for kinley because she is delayed in her gross motor development due to her "hyper flexible joints". i have been working with her and wow...she is doing great! this morning i ran upstairs to get something and was shocked to see this!!... i had to leave her there and grab my camera!! way to go kinley!! i am so proud of you!

we had the camera out to catch this moment and kya said that she needed to have her picture taken :)

new playroom

so i decided to make use of our loft that we never even go into. i love the stage of life kya is in. she has the greatest imagination, and loves to play!! i wanted to embrace this and make a area for the girls. i had so much fun putting this room together! it has been so fun to spend time up there! kya has not watched more then 20 minutes of tv the last week! it is so fun to turn the music on and spend quality time with the girls with no distractions of tv, cleaning, laundry...etc! here are some pictures of the new space.

loving this colorado weather!!

we have been having the best weather the last week! it has been in the 70's!! it has been so nice getting outside. we took kya on her first long bike ride. she did great and was so excited! we are going to have to buy her a new bike this year...she continues to grow like a weed! here are some fun shots of us enjoying the outdoors....we LOVE colorado!!

5 years!!

i cannot believe it has been 5 years! when i think back to that day, i feels like it was just yesterday! what an amazing day it was! i get to relive my wedding day almost every week! kya LOVES to watch our wedding video. we were blessed to have an amazing video made of our wedding day! it is the best thing we ever did! i am such a picture person, but watching the video puts me right back into the moment!

as i sit here and think about the last five years....a lot has changed! we bought our first home, mark quit working for young life and went back to civil engineering, we got our first dog, we had our first child ( our wonderful surprise), we had to put our first dog to sleep, we got another dog, & we had our second baby girl... wow!

our lives have changed so much! all my dreams have come true! i am married to an amazing godly man, someone i LOVE to be with!! we have an amazing marriage! he is my best friend, my everything! he has made me a better person, and continues to challenge me to grow, he is an amazing father to our daughters, he is patient, kind, funny, hot :),smart, he makes me happier then i ever though possible!

i have 2 daughters that i could not love more! they bring me a joy that is so special! i LOVE being a mommy! even in those moments when i feel i am not good at it and mess up, they love me through it, and help me to keep trying to be a better mom! i cannot imagine my life without them!

i am sitting here and feeling so thankful for the blessing god has given me! i feel so blessed to have the most amazing 3 people in my life! i cannot wait to see what the lord has in store for our future~ i know there will be good times and bad, but i am so thankful that god gave me a husband that was perfect for me! i am so excited to continue our life together!

trouble

kinley has been on of those babies who is so content and non adventurous that she often doesn't push herself to try new things. give the girl a bucket of toys and she will sit for an hour happily. she never would try to to get out of the sitting position and would wait for you to move her :) it has been kind of nice knowing she is not going to get herself into trouble if i leave the room for a minute. well things are changing!! turning 1 has made kinley into a new baby :)

she has been found emptying my cupboards, dumping out kya's craft bucket, pulling the towels off the front of the stove...etc! today we put her down for a nap and she would not fall asleep...which is not like her. we usually lay her down and that is it. i went in to check on her and to tell her it was time to sleep and i thought that would be it. well after another 10 minutes of her talking in her bed, i went up again to see what the deal was..... and this is what i found!!

i have found her once sitting in her crib, but usually she is just laying there playing with her feet and talking to herself. but today she figured something out....she can stand in her crib. kinley is a little behind in her gross motor for her age, this is the first time she has pulled herself to the standing position! i yelled for mark to grab the camera and then we proceeded to move her mattress down from the newborn level :)

how fun to see her exploring life...but how sad my life is changing~~ i am sure there will be many more posts of me finding kinley in new situations :)
